Married in Masks: How Couples Found Ways of Making These Safety Accessories Chic and Stylish

2020 is truly a year of unprecedented times. From total lockdown last March, we at the wedding industry scrambled to adapt and tried best to stay hopeful for the future of our industry. But just like anything, there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel. Slowly we pick up the pieces, and the whole industry tries to get back to the groove of shooting weddings with much precaution in place.

Steadily, since May 2020, my company has been blessed to have been given the opportunity to cover still a lot of weddings, albeit the usual grandeur and big crowd. We covered intimate weddings from Christian rites to courtroom ceremonies, even Muslim rites here in Metro Manila and as far as Los Angeles, California. Fortunately, we do have a team based in LA. Hence, no need to worry about flights and quarantine rules.

Thankfully, for the wedding industry, love always finds ways.

And as weddings now are much different in terms of the number of guests and venues, one accessory—of course—stands out for 2020: the groom and bridal masks. Filipinos being creative as always, have adapted to change, and with much style at that. I am sharing here some of the photos from our recent weddings with the 2020 best accessory of the year. May this inspire future brides and grooms on how to make their own masks as personal and creative, and more so, may this article inspire us all that despite all that’s happened this 2020, truly, love wins, and that love is indeed immune. COVID or none, love will surely find its way!

Well, except for this last bit.
In the end, love always conquers all—even COVID.
