Behind The Scenes: The Mother-Daughter Wedding Ensemble That Went Viral
Following a recent post that went viral, Francis Libiran reveals how he created the famous wedding ensemble for the mother-daughter duo.
On your wedding day, it’s important to be celebrated because it’s your moment. As a culmination of love formed between two people, it’s natural for both bride and groom to shine on their special day.
However, in Dr. Amier Lopez-Caritativo’s case, she was not the only center of attention when she married Dr. Mico Caritativo. In fact, her beautiful mother, Mrs. Racky Lopez shared the spotlight with her!
And yes, it even got to the point where their wedding photo trended on social media because of Racky’s beautifully embroidered green gown, which happened to be a piece that I designed!
Just Like Mother and Daughter
Amier asked me to create both her and her mother’s gown for her wedding day. And contrary to what most may think, she was actually the one who chose the design for her mother. I remembered doing a couple of sketches for Racky, but she said everything looked beautiful and that she couldn’t choose just one.
Racky, the mother of the bride, is a very beautiful person. She has a very motherly personality—exuding grace at every turn. I could see where Amier got her good looks and very kind aura from, which led me to make a beautifully embroidered wedding gown for her.
The result is this gorgeous number. I made Amier’s gown look regal and elegant, much like a princess. Her bodice is fully embroidered, while the skirt is beautified by lace cuttings and intricately woven beads.

Of Timeless Beauty and Grace
Not wanting to steal the spotlight from her daughter, I could feel that Racky didn’t want me to focus too much on her because she wanted Amier’s wedding to be very special. But I was thinking, why not make her shine with her daughter on the aisle?
If Amier was a princess, I knew then and there that I wanted Racky to look like a queen—a regal beauty who will walk beside her daughter on her big day. And so, I chose an emerald green color for her dress.
But what else gives off a queenly aura? Something that shines! I decided to incorporate linear detailing on her gown, adorned with iridescent beadwork. That way, Racky can have her moment on the aisle as well.
I loved seeing this kind of mother-daughter dynamic during dress fittings! With Racky and Amier, I could see their wonderful bond together and witness how happy Racky was when she was fitting her gown. In fact, every time Racky wore the dress, she kept complimenting me on how elegant it was and that she looked more and more beautiful every second she has it on.
But what she doesn’t realize is that the gown became phenomenal because of her and her personality.

A Shared Moment in the Spotlight
While most brides want all the attention to be focused on them, Amier was different. I have the utmost respect for her because she didn’t want to shine alone at her wedding. She wanted everyone to see how gorgeous her mom is—inside and out. The whole time, she’d always tell me that she didn’t mind sharing the spotlight with Racky because she wanted her guests to see where her best assets came from.
When their photo became viral on social media, I was ecstatic because I saw how stunning Amier and Racky looked. Both mother and daughter radiated confidence and happiness when they were wearing my creations—truly deserving of everyone’s awe.

Not only that, but some eagle-eyed fans apparently saw the gowns I made for Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez and recognized the similarities in the patterns and overall style. And seeing those comments made my heart well up with joy because people really recognize and love my work.
This is the driving force that keeps me motivated to do more beautiful, opulent creations. And I am truly grateful for the overwhelming love and support—not just from the bride, her mother, my clients, but also to my team and the fans around the world.
I wish a lasting, loving marriage for Amier, and I extend gratitude to her family—especially to Racky—for putting their faith in me.
