Beyond bridal dresses and elegant gowns, Francis Libiran debuts a series of elegant and timeless scents to liven up your home.

As a fashion designer, you could say that I’ve already accomplished much as a designer for people here and abroad. It feels wonderful to be recognized for what you’ve done to make people happy. And this year, the passion and drive to do more for the fashion community continues.

All the same, my life can be very draining. With schedules being booked here and there, sometimes I catch myself overworking. This year, I’ll make it a point to ensure my constant well-being, which gave me an idea: why not extend my creativity into creating lifestyle products?

Oscar Mejia III x Francis Libiran

That’s where my idea for perfumes came in. I’ve always wanted to create my own line of scents because they really aid focus, improve body rhythms, and create a wonderful ambiance. Thus, I thought of starting with home fragrances, especially since everyone is at home most of the time.

When my business partner, Arsi Baltazar, and I were planning the whole thing, we started looking for Filipino perfume connoisseurs with whom we can partner up. Incidentally, Oscar Mejia III, who is a skilled perfumer himself, was contacted by Arsi. He then asked Oscar if he can create exclusive scents based on my vision. Luckily, Oscar did not hesitate and said yes immediately!

When Oscar and I were discussing our upcoming perfume line, I told him what I wanted to feel in each scent. I gave him the freedom to combine scent notes together, as I totally trust his expert formulations. The result? Two amazing aromas: Dusk and Dawn.

Fragrances in Dusk and Dawn

So, why Dusk and Dawn? Our day begins as soon as the sun rises and ends when it sets. To be at our very best selves, I believe that we should start our day with the right regimen and end it with a simple and relaxing self-care ritual.

Dawn reminds us of the beginning where we are promised a new tomorrow. Where we go on and face our everyday challenges headstrong. Its scent notes are pomelo and olive—set on a lingering veil of sampaguita and patchouli.

On the other hand, Dusk indicates that a day’s work is finished—when we must attend to ourselves for the rest of the night. It lets us enter a peaceful state of mind in order to welcome the next day with open arms. Its refreshing notes of bamboo and white tea, paired with velvet hints of chamomile and rose mixed with musk and amber will surely make for an ambient rest.

Fragrances for the Home

We decided to distribute our two unique scents in three types of products:

Candles

Perfumed candles are a type of aromatherapy that creates an inviting ambiance to any room. They exhibit calming energies but at the same time trigger our focus and productivity. These are amazing companions to your everyday lives because it reminds us that a day’s work doesn’t have to be stressful.

Candles burn slowly and steadily, which is also a sign that we shouldn’t rush ourselves to be at our very best. We can shine bright when we take our time and exert determination in everything that we do. Moreover, these are also self-care must-haves—a reminder that when work ends, relaxing begin!

Light a candle, start breathing exercises and have a well-deserved rest.

Reed Diffusers

Think perfumed candles, but without needing to light them. If you’re the type of person who’s very cautious and would like a low-maintenance way to keep the calming ambiance in check, reed diffusers are the way to go!

Usually, there are places that prohibit using candles, like condominiums, because unattended ones may cause fires. With reed diffusers, all you have to do is to place reed diffuser sticks into the fragrance bottle and let the scent dissipate in the air!

You can place them in your bedroom, bathroom, or your living area so that you start and end your day with a subtle yet revitalizing fragrance.

Antibacterial Room and Linen Perfume Spray

This is probably the quickest way to achieve relaxation in the simplest form! Room sprays also provide your home with an inviting atmosphere, old-school-style! Just get your bottle, shake before use, and spritz some all over your space!

Room sprays, in a way, ‘cleanse’ your home or any negative or stressful environment with its alluring aroma. You’ll never have to start or end a day’s work feeling down and blue again, as it will prompt encouragement and motivation for you to embrace your best self!

Likewise, you could spray them on your sheets so you end your day immersed in an amazing, aromatic fiesta!

This 2022, I believe that having an inspired mentality would be the key to furthering our successes. With my new fragrance line, I intend to welcome a new professional mindset: to ward off negativity and induce determination and focus.

Likewise, I’m looking forward to creating outstandingly beautiful wearable art that is near and dear to my heart this year—with positivity, wisdom, and self-care.
