Get a Taste of Japan Through Nobu Manila’s Special Sunday Brunch
From sashimi to tempura and more, Nobu Manila gives you an authentic Japanese culinary experience with their eat-all-you-can brunch.
With limited travel options, it’s time to get creative in our weekend pockets of new normal escapes. And I’m so delighted to have treated my family to a decadent taste of Japan right within the Metro via Nobu Manila’s special Sunday brunch experience—new normal style!
Romantically Transported to Japan
It’s been a while since my last visit here. And in true Nobu fashion, everything looked spic-and-span and extra inviting! I’m a fan of Japanese architecture and interior design, so being surrounded by such a well-designed ambiance was such a treat off the bat!
It was raining quite hard that day, so we dined in one of their cozy yet elegant high ceiling private rooms—the kind that’s overlooking the beautiful garden area of Nobu restaurant, where their open-air floating cabanas are at. The wide floor-to-ceiling windows really brought more of nature indoors. Plus, the rain made the place look very safe comforting, and altogether romantic. It felt like a scene from an aesthetic Japanese film!

Same But Different—The New Sunday Brunch Experience
Now onto the food and dining experience! All while incorporating IATF rules and dining protocols, you’re greeted with a special brunch menu. There are fun live cooking stations around the restaurant to look forward to. But this time, they come with acrylic dividers and new normal “order-all-you-can” house rules in place. It’s perfect for enticing the appetite and senses, but the standard operating procedure (SOP) is to order at the table.
So in a way, it depends on your comfort or adventure level. That is, whether you’re want to keep going around the area for your next servings. Alternatively, you can simply request a server to deliver them to your table.

Beverages include a variety of specialty drinks—from mocktails to cocktails, chilled juices, sodas, coffee, and tea. For the food, there’s miso soup with New Zealand Green Mussels to start. As for the mains, you have a tempura station, sauté station, yakitori grill station, carving station, and specialty dishes like Wagyu pastrami sliders, salads, and of course Nobu’s signature sashimi selection, among others!

Out of all their choices, I really loved their fresh Hamachi with Yuzu Soy sauce and Jalapeño! Additionally, other stand-out dishes were the fresh seabass tempura and the chirashi. The Oke Platter—which is basically their sushi and sashimi presented beautifully—is also a must-have!
I also personally loved the Lychee Passion and Pepino mocktails. All so refreshing! And of course, we couldn’t miss the dessert station! The Kumomo Green Peach ice cream, and the Passionfruit + Dark chocolate cake were my favorites! And if you’re watching your sugar intake, they serve fresh fruits, too!

Details that Matter
This brunch experience can be enjoyed for what felt like almost the whole day—from 11 AM to 4 PM. We actually called it “brunner,” since it felt like brunch, lunch, and dinner—all in one. We felt so full after!
Fresh wet hand towels, mask holders, and bag stools are also provided, aside from their thorough 5-star service! It’s reassuring to know that they’re trained to follow the Nobu standard of quality with all their branches globally. So in a way, it really felt like we were enjoying an intimate family brunch in Japan… without having to hop on a plane!
The price per head is PHP2950 net per person. Plus, fully-vaccinated guests get 25% off their bill until August 31, 2021! How cool is that?

For the record though, the protocol for their staying hotel guests is to have their meals in their rooms. So you can be assured of guests at limited capacity. As for the rest of the week, Nobu is open from 11 AM until 9 PM. For lunch, they offer donburi specials, while they’ve got signature Omakase menus for dinner.
If the weather permits, you should definitely dine in their intricately built signature floating cabanas. Whether for an elevated family brunch or a new normal date venue, it’s nothing short of romantic, relaxing, and simply one-of-a-kind! Who would you dine here with?
