#RisePH: One Mega Group Calls For Donations to Help Those Afflicted by Typhoon Ulysses
As Filipino resilience continues to brave yet another storm, hundreds of our fellowmen lose their homes and property. And while that resilience our foreign counterparts know us for has its limits, our bayanihan spirit once again springs forth for the less fortunate, ever ready to pool resources and aid those in need. The devastating effects of Typhoon Ulysses have proven our country’s unpreparedness for disasters. As its torrential rains cause massive floods, our brothers and sisters scrambled for dry ground atop roofs and debris. Climate change and government response once again take center stage, with Filipinos clamoring for changes that have been overlooked by more trivial matters.
The calamitous storm, equivalent in force to a Category 2 Hurricane by PAGASA, caused up to three meters of storm surge in many parts of Luzon, leaving 13 dead, two injured, and 15 missing in its wake as of Thursday evening. With thousands of homes in the affected areas submerged in floodwater, residents took shelter in rooftops and makeshift centers. Many of our countrymen, concerned private citizens, local government units, and several government officials who took the initiative to personally rush to their aid, evacuated these people. Many are yet to be rescued, with others homeless and displaced. In Metro Manila alone, the number of evacuees has now tipped over 8,000 families.

The #RisePH Movement
One Mega Group, Inc., which has, in many ways, created benchmarks for Filipinos in the publishing industry, joins the generous in providing much-needed assistance for those who have lost their homes. OneMega.com and its sister subsidiaries—MEGA, Lifestyle Asia, BluPrint, Modern Parenting, and Nylon Manila, unite through One Mega Group Relief Operations in the #RisePH movement, with the objective of helping the less fortunate in times of crisis. Today, the primary goal is to raise funds in order to support 1,000 families—at the very least—via care packages containing essential food, water, and hygiene products which can sustain a family for a couple of days. This initiative envisions to alleviate the already suffering afflicted while they recuperate from the damages.
Through #RisePH, OneMega.com is asking those who are able—and are blessed to have more than enough—to support our initiative in providing immediate relief to the victims of Typhoon Ulysses. No matter how big or small your aid is, our accumulated help will go a long way in taking care of the needs of the victims of the typhoon. Donations may be deposited to any of the following accounts:
