#RisePH Extends A Huge Thank You For Lending A Hand To The Cause
As OneMega.com and its fellow One Mega Group titles pooled in all efforts to collect donations through #RisePH, be it in cash or in kind, the philanthropic effort was able to pack around 500 packs of relief goods that were sent to those affected by the storms
Truly, Filipino hospitality coupled with the tight-knit family culture goes a long way especially in this time of need. And while many question how our culture of resilience has become an unfortunate manner of enduring oppression, we also acknowledge how this Filipino trait has continued to bring undying hope to affected families and those who demand change for the good of our nation. #RisePH, One Mega Group’s collective initiative in helping the victims of the typhoon, encourages our unity as a nation to do better through charitable efforts.

Friends, family, business partners, and associated individuals who have become part of our growing family donated cash on top of food, clothing, and other basic necessities for those afflicted by the damaging effects of Typhoon Ulysses. Each pack of relief goods contains the following items: 3 kilos of rice, 6 packs of instant noodles, 2 cans of tuna, 3 cans of sardines, 1 bottled water, 5 face masks, and 5 sachets of instant coffee. #RisePH collaborated with Mayor Vico Sotto’s Pasig RED to donate the 500 packs of relief goods to families from affected barangays in Pasig City particularly in Santolan and Maybunga. He personally met with the #RisePH team who delivered the relief goods.
Our OneMega.com contributors also donated to the cause. While others created their initiatives or took part in other charitable institutions, we have seen through social media, through the news, and even from talks among our circles how many of our writers, readers, and followers poured their hearts at giving aid to those who need it. Not just in helping those devastated in areas close to home, but even those who have been affected by the tragic events of the typhoons from the northern region of Cagayan to the eastern coastlines of Bicol, to the fringes of Metro Manila in Rizal. Every gesture is felt, and every intention is delivered. We thank everyone who have, in their own way, helped our brothers and sisters in overcoming this hurdle.

As #RisePH delivers these blue and purple bags to the unfortunate victims of the super typhoons, we are once again reminded how we as a nation are not only united by troubling times, we are also united by the accomplishments of our collective intentions and our significant efforts. There will be more challenges and more obstacles yet to be overcome, but our motivation to help remains strong more than ever. We become more prepared, more caring, and more in touch with the plight of our fellowmen. This brings the much-needed change we demand as a nation and shifts the local narrative of resilience, to that of empathy, unity, and kindness.
