Nespresso’s Reviving Origins program aims to restore sustainable coffee production, while bringing the rarest blends to fans and connoisseurs.

KAHAWA ya CONGO: An Exquisite Tasting Experience

The promise of world-class coffee comes from farming regions wrought with strife. And with each sip follows a story to tell.

We journey to one of the world’s most fragile farming regions, the Democratic Republic of the Congo Region. Once a thriving coffee farming community, this region was sadly destroyed by decades of political and economic instability. But from it comes the KAHAWA ya CONGO coffee, or the“Hope of Congo.”

Grown on rain-rich volcanic soils of Lake Kivu—an ideal spot for specialty Arabicas—the KAHAWA ya CONGO blend is a smooth and fruity seasonal blend. It’s a split roast variety, which means that some beans get a darker roast to bring out their full intensity and body. Likewise, the smooth and balanced Arabica promises a sweet cereal and nutty aroma in every cup. But with milk, the strong aroma is transformed into a light and sweet blend with biscuity notes, a hint of walnut, and a creamy, silky texture.

Of Seasonal Blends and More

Aside from the KAHAWA ya CONGO, coffee connoisseurs are treated to 3 seasonal Reviving Origins coffee blends. And with world-class taste and flavor comes the goal of long-term economic stability to farmers by showcasing their craft to the world.

First off, you get AMAHA awe UGANDA, which is grown in the Rwenzori Mountains of Uganda. This single-origin coffee features a medium acidity and body—perfect for those who want a more indulgent brew. Next is the TAMUKA mu ZIMBABWE, a flowery espresso from the famous Honde Valley in the Zimbabwean Eastern highlands.

And finally, the ESPERANZA de COLOMBIA—a rich and balanced Arabica with fruity notes and a slight acidity. This blend hails from Colombian regions of El Rosario and Caquetá.
