Robinsons Hotels and Resorts debuts its 25th hotel property by unveiling its newest hotel: Grand Summit Hotel General Santos.

Located in the southernmost city in the Philippines, General Santos City is known to many as GenSan. But for others, it’s known as the Tuna Capital of the Philippines. With popular destinations such as the famous General Santos City Fish Port Complex (where you can sample the freshest yellow-fin tuna sashimi ever) or Sanchez Peak, the highest point in GenSan and a popular hiking destination, Lake Sebu, and more, there’s just so many things you can do here.

But beyond a wide range of leisure activities in this relaxed and laidback city, GenSan is also just as highly urbanized. A hub for commerce and industry in the Soccsksargen (South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, and General Santos) region, it’s also a melting pot of various businesses—both local and international.

This paradox of work and play in one city makes it perfect for those who seek a good work-life balance. Likewise, it is a perfect setting for the Grand Summit HotelRobinsons Hotels and Resorts‘ newest property—which just opened at General Santos City.

A New Kind of Luxury

Celebrating a major milestone, the newly-opened Grand Summit Hotel General Santos marks the 25th hotel property by Robinsons Hotels and Resorts. What’s more, it’s described as the “most refined and upscale property of the group to date.”

Located between Honorio Arriola and Arradaza Street in General Santos City, this four-story hotel proudly showcases 102 deluxe rooms and suites. Plus, it’s conveniently beside Robinsons Place General Santos for those who want to do some shopping. And if you want some fun and excitement, the Grand Imperial gaming facility is also within reach.

With clean and modern lines making up the hotel’s elegant façade, the Grand Summit Hotel General Santos proudly showcases floor-to-ceiling glass windows on the ground floor, inviting you to have a closer look inside. Truly befitting a luxurious experience that is to come.

Designed to be Closer to Nature

Upon arrival, you’ll be treated to a visual sight of a panoramic view of a hand-painted abstract mountainous range—definitely a focal point in the main lobby. Depicting the summit of a vast mountain range, this concept was inspired by the brand itself.

And this “journey to the peak” will continue on—from the hotel’s public spaces to its function rooms, and even its guest rooms. With a contemporary look and feel, these interiors are made to look inviting and cozy. What’s more, Grand Summit Hotel General Santos uses a warm color palette with touches of auburn hues in its furnishings and design accents in order to tie everything together.

“The design firm also made generous use of the concept of bringing the outdoors in. This is in response to the preferences of today’s travelers who’ve spent much of the pandemic confined to their homes, thus the need to feel like they are outdoors or closer to nature,” a representative from Grand Summit Hotel explains.

The result? Floor-to-ceiling glass panels all around, paired with big picture windows, and artworks that celebrate the great outdoors.

The Grand Summit Hotel Experience

True to Filipino fashion, you will be welcomed with the warmest hospitality from the hotel’s team of smartly uniformed staff—both with a heartfelt greeting and a Grand Summit Signature Blend welcome drink. Checking in has also been made easy, thanks to the self-check-in counters, which minimize unnecessary contact for guests’ health and safety.

In line with the premium hospitality and exceptional services that Grand Summit Hotel General Santos aims to deliver, guests are given thoughtful, personal touches—tailor-fit for their needs. These include personalized notes, welcome amenities, turndown items, and even a pillow menu for the best sleep possible.

Likewise, guests are treated to generous and spacious rooms, which can be shared with family members and friends once quarantine measures are eased. The Deluxe King, Deluxe Twin, and Deluxe PWD rooms all feature 36 square meters of space, while the Morrow Suite or the Odi Suite both have a massive 107 square meters to luxuriate in.

And let’s not forget the amenities. In line with the brand’s advocacy for sustainable living, Grand Summit Hotel General Santos now uses dispensers for their shampoo and soap instead of disposable bottles. Likewise, the hotel plans on eliminating single-use water bottles once it becomes safe, and will soon replace them with glass water pitchers.

Of Business and Pleasure

What’s a hotel experience without good food? For your dining needs, Café Summit, the hotel’s all-day dining outlet is there to serve your needs. With a range of regional delicacies and international cuisines to choose from, you can indulge in your choice of a la carte dishes or a grand buffet spread. And the fun part? You can even indulge in Happy Hour drinks at their bar, too!

Aside from a gastronomic experience, Café Summit also serves as a space to enjoy each other’s company, whether to spend time with family or as a welcoming refuge after work.

Speaking of work, Grand Summit Hotel General Santos also provides a venue for business meetings and conferences with its many versatile function rooms, which span from 59 square meters, up to 863 square meters. Plus, you can even use these spaces for intimate gatherings and for celebrations—with the appropriate safety protocols in place, of course.

Safety Amid the Pandemic

Despite the lower COVID cases, thanks to rising vaccination rates all around the Philippines, the Grand Summit Hotel General Santos isn’t resting on its laurels just yet.

With your safety and best interests in mind, the hotel still continues to implement the Robinsons Hotels and Resorts’ Circle of Clean protocol—a World Health Organization-compliant hygiene and cleanliness standard that is likewise approved by the Department of Health’s New Normal protocols. This includes online check-in, luggage disinfection upon check-in and check-out, and hygienic food and beverage handling—all to ensure your safe and worry-free stay.

Now that’s truly the peak of luxury and your second home down at sunny Mindanao.
