Following the announcement of the new Pantone Color of the Year for 2022, Charisse Tinio shares her favorite Very Peri celebrations.

Every year, people excitedly wait for the announcement of what the color of the year will be. And for the year 2022, the chosen color is called Very Peri—a “dynamic periwinkle blue hue with a vivifying violet-red undertone,” according to Pantone themselves.

But just who or what is Pantone? Like most of you, I was curious about the company and how they choose these colors. A quick search online told me that Pantone is a company based in New Jersey, USA. They have always been the de facto authority on color, which is why they have been assigning the color of the year since 1999—based on design trends.

Back to Very Peri, the Pantone color for 2022. Aside from its lovely shade, this is also the very first color of the year to be made for the occasion… literally! All previous Pantone Colors of the Year were picked from their existing colors color system. But Very Peri is special. Given the current circumstance, it’s a manifestation of how our lives have changed due to the pandemic and how our lives have adapted to new challenges of the times.

Inspired by this, we’ve come up with a collection of our 2021 events, which use the creative and lovely Very Peri color as their focal point.

6. Hans and Honey’s Wedding

Hans and Honey had a beautiful, solemn, and intimate wedding at The Farm at San Benito. With just 26 guests present, the wedding had a Very Peri motif, as styled by Teddy Manuel—accompanied with lights and sounds by LST Lights and Sounds Mobile.

5. Riva Quenery’s Birthday Party

Celebrity vlogger Riva used pink and lavender colors for her birthday party. Held at Sitio Elena, this elegant party was styled by Amelia Blossoms. 

4. Errol Daño and Kaye Julian’s Wedding

Errol Daño and Kaye Julian’s wedding in Clark Marriott Hotel was styled by Pampanga-based event stylist Blooms Event Styling and showed touches of Very Peri motif. 

3. Angelo Patrimonio and Jasmine Maierhofer’s Wedding

Angelo Patrimonio and Jasmine Maierhofer used different shades of purple as their wedding motif, including the Very Peri Color of the Year. Their wedding was exquisitely designed by event stylist Teddy Manuel in Club Ananda, Tagaytay.

2. JC De Vera and Rikkah Cruz‘s Wedding

Actor JC De Vera and long-time partner Rikkah Cruz tied the knot with a celestial-themed wedding in Angelfields, Tagaytay. Event stylist Gideon Hermosa used lovely violet hues to beautify the venue.

1. AC Bonifacio’s Debut

Young talented celebrity, dancer, and TikTok artist AC Bonifacio had a cute Riverdale-themed debut in Sitio Elena, where Randy Lazaro used touches of Very Peri to liven up her party. Even AC’s cute dress was in a lovely Very Peri hue.
