IN PHOTOS: A Look at Milan Fashion Week With Fendi
Pinky Tobiano shares her experience in this year’s Milan Fashion Week—a prestigious event graced by some of the biggest names and celebrities in the fashion industry.
It was truly an honor and privilege to be invited to Fendi’s Milan Fashion Week festivities. This prestigious event is held twice a year—in February and July—and I was able to witness fashion’s best in person there. In fact, you can expect new collections from storied houses, amazing street fashion, and even plenty of celebrities, influencers, buyers, and media.
There was no shortage of things to do in Milan during Fashion Week, and with it being my first time, I’m happy to say that I had a blast there—spending time with my daughter, Karrel, and meeting new friends from all over the world.

Preparations and Accommodations
The Fendi Team in Milan was overflowing with warm hospitality when we arrived. My team and I were set up at the Four Seasons Hotel in Milan, where they took care of everything that Karrel and I needed to make our stay memorable. And yes, this included a personal chauffeur that was with me 24/7. TIn fact, they even went above and beyond with gifts arriving every day—from chocolates and champagne to Fendi bags, and lots more.
Fendi took care of my schedule as well. All five days were filled with private haute couture presentations, great dinners, and an invite to the fashion show that featured Fendi’s new 2022 collection, where Karrel and I sat next to Solenn Heussaff and Dr. Vicki Belo.

The 2022 Fendi Collection
The aforementioned collection dove deep into the Fendi archives. Kim Jones, whom I had the pleasure of meeting, populated the collection with classic utilitarian silhouettes in contemporary materials—a symbol of strength and softness that challenges the very definition of the two words and what it means to be both.
There were fewer logos this time around—a sign of where things will go in the future—and it was so innovative to see how the archives were spun into something entirely new. In other words, I simply adored this new collection!
Elsewhere, pre-selling was happening on the store level. This collection will be launched in July 2022 and I couldn’t be more excited. Likewise, influencers, vloggers, and endorsers of Fendi were making the rounds online, wearing their Fendigraphy bags—showcasing the bag’s iconic underneath.

Some personal highlights include meeting Arón Piper—a known actor for playing Ander in the Netflix drama Elite; Naomi Watanabe, a Japanese comedian, actress, and fashion designer; Chiara Ferragni, Italian blogger and fashion designer; and Rita Ora, the famous singer-songwriter.
I want to thank Fendi Philippines—led by Rolando Sarmiento—as well as Ragini Ramsignh who made sure we had the best Milan fashion week experience. I, for one, can’t wait for the next Milan Fashion Week in September.
