How to Choose Your Ideal Pandemic Wedding Gown

From grandiose to minimalist, full-house to intimate. Here’s a look at how wedding gowns have changed then and now amid the pandemic.

Individualism. This word resonates within me as I try to unveil what I’ve learned from this pandemic.

As we cope with the many changes brought about by COVID-19, we are compelled to learn more about ourselves—to discover our individualism, self-reliance, and uniqueness. Aside from manifesting in our daily life decisions, these realizations are most evident in how people now celebrate their special events.

Most especially at weddings.

Weddings Then and Now

From 2020 to now, I’ve witnessed how weddings shifted from grandiose to minimalist, full-house to intimate. People’s preferences have changed, too—from sunrise over sunsets, civil ceremonies over church weddings, plated service over buffets, 5-seater tables instead of 10-seaters, and so on. But what strikes me the most is how our pandemic brides have also evolved in choosing their wedding gowns.

Before the pandemic, my brides chose more intricate and extravagant gowns—big ball gowns, heavily beaded ones, and even the newest wedding collections from famed ateliers. But these days, what I appreciate about my brides is that they chose to be more themselveschoosing comfort over anything else

Bridal gown trends are shifting and clearly, non-traditional bridalwear is here to stay.

Different brides, different dresses, different stories—all in one pandemic.

As we move forward and try to adapt to the ever-changing wedding trend, my advice to our future brides—you must not change one thing… you.
