Uncomplicated and simple. Intimate and sweet. Francis Libiran shares the story behind Kara Gozali and Mark Agas’ couple wedding outfits.

When Kara Gozali reached out to me to create matching wedding outfits for her and her fiance, Mark Agas, I immediately accepted. I always say that every time models or highly-acclaimed artists approach me to design something for them, it’s flattering because they see something special in my creations. It also means that they have many options on who to collaborate with, but they choose me in the end.

Whenever people say that they trust my discretion and love my designs, my heart does a somersault. It’s nice to be appreciated, especially if this is your life’s work.

A True Beauty, Inside and Out

Going back to Kara, we haven’t had a definite project yet (that is, until now), but I’ve always looked up to her. I know her through the Professional Models’ Association of the Philippines (PMAP) and from there, I’ve seen her pose for countless brands. She really does an amazing job!

Kara is a beautiful person inside and out. She treats people with kindness and respect and she’s very humble, too. What’s more, Kara is also a doctor. It’s no wonder! She is very articulate and whenever you have a chance to talk to her, she talks with discernment.

Her fiance (now husband), Mark, is also a doctor like Kara. He is an opthalmologist and he radiates with so much kindness and love for his beau. And whenever I see him, he looks at Kara as if she’s the only person in the room.

Kara and Mark’s Love Story: Intimate and Sweet

Seeing them together made me realize something: sometimes, simple is everything.

Kara said that what she loves most about Mark is that he is a bit old-fashioned and yet, such a gentleman. “The world needs more people like him,” she tells me, with a fondness in her voice.

Due to Kara’s career as a model, they both sometimes get featured in various media outlets. What’s more, the couple also leads busy yet fulfilled lives in the medical field. But amid all the busyness, they have each other, and that is enough for them.

Kara added that when they first met, the conversation became fluid between them. Now, they could freely confide and talk to each other without worrying about judgment from each other. And as the couple told me more about their love story, I became even more motivated to finish their wedding ensemble.

Uncomplicated and Simple

I then realized that I could design them something uncomplicated, but with an elegant opulence. I associated this style with them because I can see the happiness radiating through them. I can feel the sincerity of the love that encompassed their relationship—and the reason why it flows effortlessly.

Because they are both simple people with simple hearts—full of love for each other.

For Kara, I created an uncomplicated yet charismatic wedding gown. To make it easy for Kara to walk with the gown, I used a crepe fabric material for the gown. It won’t be hard for her to move in it as well! The gown is also filled with crystals and beads—forming linear patterns across the dress.

On the other hand, Mark opted for a black, signature bespoke piece with criss-cross patterns. You can see how debonair he looks wearing the suit. He really knew how to carry himself in it!

Their wedding wasn’t over the top, but it was special and intimate—which is how it should be. For them, being with the most important person in your life and celebrating every chapter with is the most essential. And this simple but heartfelt ceremony is a true testament to that.
